Decked Out

Decked Out: Slab Edition - a multiplayer dungeon-crawler inspired by TangoTek's Hermitcraft creation.

Decked Out: Slab Edition is a dungeon-crawling game inspired by TangoTek’s Hermitcraft creation. The Slab Edition solves the singleplayer waiting problem by letting several players run instances at once - but everything past the entrance is untouched: “Everything after you enter the instance is vanilla and exactly how the game plays in survival mode.”

Getting started

Claim a plot with /plot auto and grab your starter kit with /kit board. Your setup needs:

  • A 3×3 item frame display for up to 9 artifacts.
  • A Shulker Deck holding your reusable cards and the essential Player Certificate.
  • An empty inventory with no armor when you start a run.

Artifacts must live on your board. You may not store artifacts anywhere else - not a shulker, ender chest, or your inventory.

How to play

Objective

Collect artifact sets - Common, Uncommon and Rare variants across 18 themed sets - and submit complete sets to the Trade System barrel to score points on the leaderboard.

A run, step by step

  1. Place your dungeon key in the barrel and your Shulker Deck on the observer.
  2. Take the bed from the barrel and set your spawn on the hoppers.
  3. Enter the dungeon with your compass objective.
  4. Find the compass location and complete the run.
  5. Exit and claim your rewards: one card and three artifacts.

Game mechanics

Artifacts & trading

  • Your board holds a maximum of 9 artifacts; extras must be stored elsewhere.
  • Trade three artifacts of the same rarity for one of the next tier up.
  • Submit a complete set (all three rarities) to the Trade System barrel for leaderboard points.
  • You cannot complete a set using an extra artifact that isn’t on your board - the components have to be displayed.

Cards

Cards activate in deck order - the first three fire before your Player Certificate.

  • Loot Finder / Glutton - increase chest contents. Mutually exclusive, max combined Level 6.
  • Soul Seeker - reveals soul flames for better card rewards (stacks).
  • Stealth - reduces clank generation.
  • Beast Sense - sense dungeon beasts through walls (stacks).
  • Resistance - grants temporary Resistance II.
  • Multi-Compass - adds an extra compass (+1 artifact per completion).
  • Co-Op - enables two-player runs.
  • Hardmode - increased difficulty.

Some effects stack (Soul Seeker, Beast Sense); non-stacking cards use only the highest level present.

Dungeon systems

  • Clank - noise from movement and the passage of time. High clank wakes the dungeon’s spirits and ramps difficulty; Stealth cards mitigate it.
  • Soul Flames - blue flames that give better card quality when punched. Soul Seeker increases how often they appear.
  • Loot Chests - always mounted in walls; spawn loot or food based on your equipped cards.
  • Magic Crystals - trade at Potion Stations (4 crystals = 1 potion) or with the Ghost Merchant for special items.
  • Traveler’s Greed - a one-use-per-run item granting extra compass functionality.

Co-op

  • Invite a partner with /party invite (playername) - two players max.
  • Both enter through different coloured doors (red / blue), each with a compass, and must complete both objectives.
  • “Only one player needs to come back alive for the system to give the full rewards.”
  • Keep your assigned colour for the whole session - swapping corrupts the map.
